Privacy policy

Nudge helps freelancers and small businesses follow up on unpaid invoices. This page explains what information Nudge collects, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. Nudge is run by Mathias Paramel, based in Thailand (“we”). Questions or requests: nudgeapp.team@icloud.com.

The short version

  • We collect only what we need to run Nudge.
  • We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
  • Nudge never messages your clients. Every message is sent by you, from your own apps.
  • The demo keeps everything in your own browser. We never receive it.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
  • You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time.

1. If you joined our waitlist

Before launch we ran a waitlist. If you joined it, we stored:

  • your email address;
  • your optional answers about what you do and which messaging app your clients reply on fastest;
  • the page or link that brought you to Nudge, if the link contained a tag such as ?ref=;
  • your country, worked out from your internet connection. We don't store your IP address with your signup.

We use this to tell you when your spot opens and to understand who wants Nudge. We keep it until we launch, or until you ask us to remove you. Email nudgeapp.team@icloud.com and we'll delete it.

2. If you use the app

To give you an account and run Nudge, we store:

  • your email address, which you use to sign in;
  • the client details you enter: names, contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, LINE IDs, Telegram usernames and notes;
  • your invoices: numbers, amounts, currencies, dates and descriptions;
  • the follow-ups you log as sent (the message text, the app you used and the date) and the payment dates your clients promise;
  • your settings: your name, business name, payment details and message templates.

Your data is protected so that only your account can read it. When you add details about your clients, you're responsible for having the right to do so, as with any business tool. We only use that information to provide Nudge to you.

Reading invoices. When you paste invoice text, Nudge reads it on your device to fill in the form. The pasted text isn't sent to us or stored; only the details you save are.

3. If you upgrade to Pro

Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's secure checkout page, and we never see or store your card number. From Stripe we keep your plan, whether your subscription is active, monthly or yearly, when it renews, and the Stripe customer ID that links your account to your subscription. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.

4. The demo

The live demo runs on made-up sample data. Anything you change is saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. We never receive it. You can wipe it with Settings → Reset demo data, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

5. Messages to your clients

Nudge prepares a message and opens WhatsApp, LINE, Telegram, SMS or email on your device with the text filled in. You decide whether to send it. We don't send, read or store anything inside those apps. Their own privacy policies apply there. We keep a copy of a message only if you log it as sent.

6. Cookies and storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The demo uses your browser's local storage, as described above.

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies. It tells us things like how many people visited, which pages they viewed and which country they came from, so we can see whether Nudge is useful to people.

7. Who helps us run Nudge

We use a small number of service providers, who handle data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in.
  • Resend: sends sign-in emails.
  • Vercel: hosts the website and counts visits. Its servers may log technical details such as IP addresses for security and reliability.
  • Stripe: processes Pro payments and manages subscriptions.

These providers may process data in countries other than yours. We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

8. How long we keep it

Waitlist details are kept until launch or until you ask us to remove them. Account data is kept while your account is open. Payment records are also kept by Stripe for as long as the law requires. To delete your account and everything in it, email nudgeapp.team@icloud.com. We'll confirm and do it promptly, within 30 days.

9. Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, get a copy, delete it, or withdraw your consent, for example by leaving the waitlist. In the app, Settings → Export invoices (CSV) gives you a copy of your invoices at any time. To make any other request, email nudgeapp.team@icloud.com.

If you're not happy with how we handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority, such as Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC).

10. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and the database only lets each account read its own rows. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you.

11. Children

Nudge is a tool for businesses and isn't meant for children.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also email you.
